Life goes on..

Went and renewed my passport, i will have to carry two passports now as the older one has the British visa! The picture for the passport was another story - i had to get the pics taken twice as the first one was a real sick one and I didnt want to walk around with the same picture on the passport for another ten year.

Winter seems to have finally arrived with temps falling to the mid teens today. I actually look forward to a little snow today, but am afraid that we may be in for a big storm when I am travelling, which incidentally is why i required to renew the passport. I will be in the UK for around a week from Jan 29th. The snow thrower is sitting in the garage waiting to be used!!

There is still contstant bickering b/w me and the wife around putting the lilguy to sleep in the crib. At times, I so want him to be between us as when I turn around in the night I can get to feel his hands on my face etc but I do want to instill in him good sleep habits! Yday I went up and advised the MIL to keep off. The lilguy does eat when given to now but does not like to be lying on his back!

The sister is coming into Seattle next week. A really long flight b/w Seattle & Blr. We'll be visiting her in Seattle around mid-Feb instead of the get-together at Las Vegas. The MIL will be visiting LA in the meanwhile.

I think i've found my drink of choice after JD, its scotch with ice and club soda. I can probably finish up a whole bottle in the manner - which definitely is not a good thing!

In the Crib!

So I've been trying to let the lilguy sleep alone in the crib since friday. It seems to be working to a certain extent. Just wished that the mommy didnt put him back between us after his early morning feed. The guy twitches and turns around when you put him in but soon gets to sleep in a comfortable position on his tummy. I've had to put him on his back after a couple of minutes. It is those long minutes sleep laden moments at night, when you debate as to if all the effort is worth it and whether conflicting parenting styles will only make things worse off!

Other than that: the weather has been unseasonably warm with temperatues hitting the 70's over the past weekend!

New Years Resolution

Need to get some professional help with financial planning this year and also start investing rather than keeping money sitting around!

Ringing in the new years

So its finally 2007, had a small get together with a couple of close friends. The lilguy was awake till the ball dropped and later!! After everyone left, we cleaned up the place so that the lilguy would not feel alien when he got up this morning. Although the lilguy was up at 10:30, we got up late around 2PM. Called the folks, who had earlier left a message.

Mom created a flickr account and uploaded the pictures from India. Valyachan looks like never before but Ammams looked kind of pale! The kids have grown up and doing good. Kuniyil seemed to look so big now wit h the addition: hopefully it looks better when finished. Parijat along with the lily pond looks nice. The house shows its personality now!!

Tomorrow is going to be a half day in memory of Pres. Ford who passed away last week.
