2008...

December was a bummer for us..the lilguy fell sick almost every other week and his ear infection really took a bite out of his playful nature! That didnt make me feel any better - was sick quite often too.

New Years was at Anils - got drunk silly and barfed my way into New Years!! My god..never felt so awful since college! And to top it - the chicken dish that was left over destroyed my intestines just two days before i was supposed to leave for india..luckily there were no health issues during the trip..

The trip went good although two weeks is a very short time! Our flight to Bombay was good..but with the delay b/w Bombay and Calicut, the starting of the vacation was not what i'd planned. Definitely am not doing a Bombay leg for any of the future trips. Unni was at peak form in the plane and was very cooperative..very unlike what everyone portrayed young kids on planes to be...Trip was good, no untoward incidents noted but after getting back..all three of us crashed for the first two days!!..actually still a little drowsy as the lilguy was up for 3 hours in the night after 2AM.

The lilguy really transformed from the quite lilangel to the lilmonster he really is!! From what I can say..he had the most fun as he got whatever he wanted with his bua and really took to his Mutthachi and Mutthachan. Even before we left for India, he had something for his acchachan but the fact that he couldnt always get what he wanted made him turn towards his acchama.. It was a good thing that he was able to pronounce the word acchama before the end of the trip or I think it would have been unjust to meow!! He really took to the open environment and also to the hordes of people around him..felt good to see him walk and run!

Other than that, the inlaws visited Parijat bring along with them two friends, who turned out to be Jains. There were some pure comical moments during the 1 week stay - but come on..a jain in a mallu house..its disaster waiting to happen!! Dad took them to a lot of places..but i felt that they overdid a little bit. We had cooks cooking northie food in the outhouse and the rest of the food being cooked seperately in the second kitchen..was quite a hassle.

Anyways..we are planning to go to Doha during early September to stay there for a week. This way D can see where I grew up. Its costly not to say the least..around $3698 for ticket for two+1! And then will do a yearly trip to India going forward..

Sis's marraige plans are not panning out..but just learnt that she'll be in the US for a project someplace in Idaho! I would like for her to be in the tri-state area but am aware of the fact that she'll not make much mollah staying here! I will talk with her tonight..
